Protodeacon Simeon Kopcha

Our beloved and ever memorable, Protodeacon Simeon "Sam" Kopcha, fell asleep in the Lord on April 30, 2010.   Protodeacon Simeon was a life long member of the church and served the church in so many ways including choir director for 26 years and Deacon for over 20 years.  He also worked for the church on the national level and was very active on St. Vladimir's Seminary board for many years.  As was mentioned at his funeral, Protodeacon Simeon was always "obedient to the church's calling" and he was an extremely hard worker for the church in spreading the word of God.  His wife, Eva (Hasko), his children, Susan Davis and husband, Loyd, Claudia Senetcen and husband, Paul, Melanie Koles and husband, the Very Rev. David Koles, and son, Peter and wife, Patricia, along with eight grandchildren are active members in the Orthodox faith.  Protodeacon Simeon was the perfect example of a "servant of God".  He will be deeply missed by all the faithful of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Terryville.  May his memory be eternal.
